4 types of magazine covers

Picture
Empire magazine uses the actors posing as the key characters that are in the movie that is featured within the magazine. For this particular cover there are two film characters who are shown, the reason that two is shown instead of one is because of the film's story which is centred around the two characters who are at odds with one another. The way that they are positioned is to show that the two characters are different and are not friends. This way to advertise the film is effective in the way that the cover prominently features these characters from the film, having them so boldly on the front cover is how it is used to catch the attention of anyone that may glimpse the cover of the magazine.

For the release of spider man 3 premiere took this picture of actor Toby McGuire, this image shows the actor in the centre of the page, this image works well as the pose taken is that of the actor starring straight into the camera as if they are starring right at the reader or who ever is looking at the cover of the magazine.
