Inspirations

For our production company we were inspired by the zombie sub genre early on. You can see by the fact that we called our company 6ft under. The title resembles the concept of being buried alive 6ft under the earth. The clip then closely followed the title in having a very similar idea.

Our OTS then continued to be a zombie horror. The films that inspired us were films such as 28 days later and world war Z.

we liked both of these clips both for very different reasons. The '28 days later' clip was good in that we liked how they induced panic using simple shots of both fear in the eyes of the survivors and then switching back to shots of really well made up zombies. This OTS was linear however we wanted to go along with a different approach.

We liked the style of the 'world war Z' OTS in that it didn't show the zombie infection entirely but instead they showed the build up of the infection as it spread without people realizing. This style was overall favored as 'World War Z' chose a non-linear approach with snippets of different shots that swapped in every few seconds.
