how the appearance of your title can give different connotations

Within a film you will be presented with a title that potentially represents the atmosphere and mood of the whole film just by its appearance onscreen. For example the actual words used can represent the whole genre. For instance 'Paranormal Activity' suggests a ghostly horror film and 'Saw' suggests a particularly gore oriented and bloodied  film as the thought of a saw with serrated blades give off negative,sinister and violent connotations.

Another reason may be the font its made with. A particularly bright, colorful and fluffy looking font makes you think of love, happiness and maybe a children's film. Whereas a dark, sharp and shadowy font may suggest a more adult, mysterious and creepy style of film.

A title needs to captivating and engaging to the audience in order to avoid deterring them from viewing the film, with a title that can catch the attention of someone is one that can bring in more viewers and widen it's audience size. the movie title is how the audience is able to know that they are watching a horror movie and that this particular film is one that will terrify and shock them.

The connotations of our OTS can be, ominous, eerie,

opening titles and what order they appear

In a motion picture, television program or video game, the opening credits are shown at the very beginning and list the most important members of the production. They are now usually shown as text superimposed on a blank screen or static pictures, or sometimes on top of action in the show. There may or may not be accompanying music. When opening credits are built into a separate sequence of their own, the correct term is title sequence. The order that titles appear in is a set order, this order is dictated by the screen actors guild and other different unions. The order of the titles always begins with the distribution company and ends with the Director as the last person mentioned in the opening title. Here is  the order that the titles appear;
